    Norwegian has signed an agreement to acquire two new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. Both aircraft will be delivered in the first quarter of 2016. The 787-9 is larger than the 787-8 that Norwegian currently operates on its long-haul routes.

The company reports a third quarter pre-tax profit of 604 MNOK, a result significantly affected by the costs associated with wet-leasing replacement aircraft on long-haul routes.

The company is growing and increasing its capacity by taking delivery of brand new aircraft, establishing new operational bases outside Scandinavia and introducing new routes within Europe and between Scandinavia and the U.S. and Asia.

    Norwegian reports record passenger figures in May. Almost 1.9 million passengers flew with Norwegian in May, which is the highest number of passengers the company has carried in a single month. The total on-time performance was 90.1 percent. With an on-time performance of as much as 94.5 percent, the Helsinki base reports in at first place, closely followed by Bergen and Alicante.
