Passenger record for Norwegian in June

Norwegian reports its best passenger figures ever in June. Close to 1.5 million passengers flew with the airline last month, a passenger growth of 19 percent compared to June 2010. The load factor was record high, at 81 percent.

As many as 1,459,337 passengers travelled with Norwegian in June, the highest number of passengers the company has ever reported during a single month. Norwegian also experienced a significant increase in passenger figures in June 2009 and 2010. The company had a 25 percent total traffic growth (RPK) compared to the same month previous year. The yield was improved by 6 percent compared to June 2010.

”We are very satisfied with the passenger figures and that an increasing number of passengers are choosing to fly with Norwegian. We are also pleased with our record high load factor this month, said Bjørn Kjos, Chief Executive Officer of Norwegian.

The load factor was 81 percent in June, up 4 percentage points from June 2010.  The company operated 99.7 percent of its scheduled flights, of which 83.2 per cent departed on time.
