Another month with more than 1 million passengers

The total number of passengers flown in August was over 1million, an increase of more than 150000 passengers or 18 per cent compared to August 2008. August is thus the second consecutive month with more than 1 million passengers for Norwegian.

"For the second month in a row over 1 million passengers chose to travel with Norwegian. This is very satisfying; particularly in a time with challenging market conditions and heavy competition between the airlines Norwegian has recently launched seven new routes from Scandinavia. We take great care to listen to our customers and expand our network in line with changes in demand. These traffic figures inspire us to work even harder, says CEO Bjørn Kjos.

The load factor for the Group was 81 per cent in August, a two percentage point increase from last year. In August 2009 the Group operated 99.9 per cent of its scheduled flights, of which 87.7 per cent departed on time.

In 2023, the airline had 3.3 million passengers and a fleet of 48 aircraft, including 45 Bombardier Dash 8’s and three Embraer E190-E2's. Widerøe Ground Handling provides ground handling services at 41 Norwegian airports.

The Norwegian group has sustainability as a key priority and has committed to significantly reducing carbon emissions from its operations.
